Pine-leaf or Sandhill Goldenaster
Pityopsis pinifolia (Ell.) Nutt. is the type species of Pityopsis. It is very rare in a few scattered populations along the "fall line" counties in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. It has linear hairyless or nearly hairless leaves (Semple 2006 FNA).
