Employee career advising is currently unavailable. University of Waterloo staff can access career coaching through the University’s Employee & Family Assistance Program. Staff can also access CareerHub any time for digital supports.

Empowering our employees in their careers

Employee career advising services are available to all members of the University of Waterloo community, including full-time employees, CUPE members, faculty and contract staff with a term of at least one year. The individual career appointments are free of charge and most importantly are confidential. We're determined to work diligently with you to help you identify your goals and pursue opportunities to grow and develop your career.

Exploring Your VIA Character Strengths

Knowing your strengths and how to use them is essential to your career growth and development. This workshop will explore our strengths using the VIA Character Strengths assessment. We will explore how our strengths can be used in new ways at work and at home. We will learn how to spot and appreciate strengths in others, including our work colleagues, and create stronger connections with them.
