Capstone Design Projects in Civil, Environmental and Geological Engineering
The Engineering Capstone Design Project in our three programs (Civil, Environmental and Geological Engineering) is a series of two courses taken by students in their final year. Students work in teams on a real, open-ended engineering design problem under the supervision of a faculty member with expertise in the particular problem area.
The final designs are presented at a Design Symposium. The symposium is held conference style, where each team delivers a 12 minute presentation highlighting their design process and solution, followed by a question and answer period. Visitors are welcome to attend.
