Christina Vester - UW Distinguished Teacher!

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

The Classical Studies Department is delighted to announce to our students, alumni, and friends that our own Professor Christina Vester has been chosen to receive one of the University of Waterloo's four Distinguished Teacher Awards for 2014!

Criteria for this award include "intellectual vigour and communication skills," "educational impact beyond the classroom," "human quality and concern for and sensitivity to the needs of students," as well as "a clear indication that the nominee has a favourable and lasting influence on students, and, where relevant, on colleagues." Anyone who knows Christina Vester will agree that she exemplifies all these characteristics.

In 2013, Professor Vester received one of the inaugural Faculty of Arts Teaching Awards. The 2014 Distinguished Teacher Award is now a University-wide recognition of Professor Vester's skills, her dedication, and her unfailing commitment to the needs of our students.

Please join with us in congratulating Professor Christina Vester on this recognition of her fine qualities as a teacher -- and as a human being!
