Advancing professionally and personally: an MBET student perspective
From the beginning of my journey at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business at the University of Waterloo, I felt that I had made the right choice. The environment of innovation and cultural diversity here allowed me to connect with people with incredible professional trajectories from all over the world!
From large companies like Apple and Facebook to entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses of colleagues from China, Egypt, Pakistan, Ghana, Nigeria, and many other places.
What makes the experience here so unique is the combination of a welcoming environment and a challenging curriculum that together promote both personal and professional growth.
I was able to dive deep into the field of decentralized finance and blockchain, thanks to the support of teachers and colleagues who shared their valuable knowledge and experiences with me.
From the initial socializing, introduction to the ecosystem and even a welcoming party at Professor Chris Holt’s house to the collaborative projects I have had the opportunity to work on, every step at the Conrad School has been an opportunity to develop my skills and apply them to my project on decentralized loans. The freedom to experiment and the rich exchange of ideas allowed me not only to advance professionally but also to make a real impact through my venture.
My startup focuses on using blockchain technology to provide micro-finance solutions that are not only effective but also inclusive and accessible to those in economic vulnerability. This initiative was inspired by my initial involvement with Bitcoin mining and the desire to use the technology to promote social good.
For those considering taking the Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) program, my recommendation is absolute.
This program offers a wide range of academic and practical opportunities that truly prepare you for the real world. The ability to test and adapt ideas in a supportive environment is unmatched. The professors, mentors, events, and global community create an ecosystem where personal and professional growth happens every day.
If you are looking for an experience that goes beyond the academic and dives into the heart of entrepreneurship and technological innovation, the MBET at the Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business is the place to be. Not only will you gain an education; you will live a transformative experience that stays with you for the rest of your life.
