Join the Conrad School for this breakfast session as we celebrate Women in Entrepreneurship Day. Our early-morning panel discussion will include incredible women entrepreneurs working to improve health care for women. Hear what they're doing, learn about some of the challenges they face and what they see in store for the future.

Agenda:

7:30am: But first, coffee. Grab a coffee and ease into conversation.

8:00am: Fully fuelled, sit down and hear from women entrepreneurs in the women's health space. It's also a chance for you to ask our expert panelists questions.

9:00am: Networking and possibly enjoy a second cup.

Moderated by Samantha Uridil, Scotiabank

The panel discussion will be moderated by Scotiabank's Samantha Uridil. Samantha is an active member of Scotiabank's Women Initiative and has been in the financial industry for more than 30 years and is currently the branch manager at the King and Northfield branch in Waterloo.

Aliya Kassamali, PharmD, MBET, ICD.D Co-Founder, Health Aisle Media

Aliya Kassamali

Aliya is an experienced pharmacist and entrepreneur working at the intersection of healthcare and technology. As co-founder of Health Aisle Media, a virtual health care platform, she is passionate about using digital tools to better manage patient care. Prior to moving into technology and digital health, she worked in community pharmacy in urban and rural settings and as General Manager for a large-scale packaging and distribution pharmacy in Alberta. 

Yvonne Osagie, MBET Founder, Med Melanin

Yvonne Osagie

Noticing that there was a gap in the health experiences of Women of Colour, Yvonne founded Med Melanin. Med Melanin is a telemedicine provider that reduces misdiagnosis rates and improves health consult experiences for both physicians and patients, starting with Women of Colour. 

In true entrepreneurial style, Yvonne works a full-time job while working on Med Melanin whenever she can. She is a graduate of the Conrad School's Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology program and is working with Velocity Incubator.


momTALK

Samantha Huiskamp and Sarvpreet Kaur founded momTALK to support new mothers through their postpartum journey. With support of the Communitech Fierce Founders program, they're currently working to build their business. 

Communitech Fierce Founders is helping women and non-binary founders start and grow their companies by providing hands-on support, customized content and access to a network of other women and non-binary founders

Samantha Huiskamp, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Samantha Huiskamp

Sam is the the Founder of momTALK. Their goal is to provide a safe and trusted space for moms to manage their postpartum mental health. They're leading a movement to break the silence and stigma around postpartum mental health and to empower moms to take charge of their health and wellbeing. 

Sam's passion for providing postpartum health support comes from her personal struggle postpartum anxiety after her son's birth. She is determined to use her skills and experience as a healthcare product manager to make a difference so that other postpartum moms don't have to experience the challenges she faced accessing support and treatment.

Sarvpreet Kaur, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer

Sarvpreet Kaur

Sarvpreet is co-founder and Chief Product Officer (CPO) for momTALK. She is passionate about raising awareness of postpartum mental health challenges and providing tools to support them. She supports moms along their postpartum journeys and advances momTALK's mission to provide women with access to postpartum treatment and support.

Prior to momTALK, she has plenty of entrepreneurial experience having run a MedTech startup and advising two FinTech startups.

Her current role at momTALK revolves around us making sure the company is taking the most optimized path to market and ensuring their solution resonates with moms as they navigate their postpartum journey.
