Celebrating the Conrad School's commitment to excellence in entrepreneurship education while honouring the contributions of its esteemed leadership team.

The Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business at the University of Waterloo is pleased to announce some exciting leadership updates that promise to further enrich its vibrant community and innovative programs.

First and foremost, Harvir Bansal has graciously agreed to continue as Interim Eyton Director of the Conrad School. His appointment will be in effect until June 30, 2025. The search for a more permanent replacement will commence in the fall of 2024. In his first seven months, Bansal has demonstrated strong leadership and a dedicated commitment to excellence in guiding the Conrad School during this period of administrative transition.

In other news, the Conrad School extends its heartfelt gratitude to Chris Holt for his outstanding service and leadership over the past five years as he concludes his term as Associate Director, MBET. Professor Holt’s time in this role has been marked by numerous achievements and contributions that have significantly enriched the educational experience for MBET students and alumni. Holt will continue to inspire and educate Conrad’s students as an indispensable member of our teaching team.

David Rose will assume the role of Associate Director, MBET effective August 1, 2024. Having previously held this role from 2014-2018, Professor Rose played a pivotal role in shaping MBET into one of the most sought-after programs in entrepreneurship education. Rose’s history and experience mean he is uniquely positioned to expertly guide this program over the next two years.

Additionally, the Conrad School would like to acknowledge and appreciate Marc Hurwitz for his dedicated service as Associate Director, Undergraduate and Non-degree programs. Professor Hurwitz’s commitment to teaching excellence and student success has left an indelible mark on the Conrad School community. Students will be happy to hear that Hurwitz will continue to teach in both our undergraduate and graduate course offerings.

Nada Basir will be Conrad School’s newest Associate Director, Undergraduate and Non-degree programs. Professor Basir brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering student growth, entrepreneurial thinking and innovation in program delivery. Basir is excited to take on this portfolio as it continues to grow.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such talented individuals guiding our programs and initiatives. Their dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and student success is truly inspiring. I look forward to collaborating with David, Chris, Marc, and Nada as we continue to push the boundaries of entrepreneurship education.
