Award description:
This scholarship has been established by Robbert Hartog who founded and was chair and CEO of Waltec Incorporated. He has actively promoted the growth and development of Canadian industry through his involvement with the Industrial Research and Development Institute (IRDI). IRDI is a non-profit corporation which serves as the national centre for research and development in material shaping industries, founded in 1992; currently members include leading companies involved in aerospace, automotive, fabrication, forming, packaging, rubber and plastic parts.
Two or more scholarships valued at $5,000 will be awarded annually to full-time University of Waterloo graduate students in the Faculty of Engineering to students conducting research in materials or material shaping in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, who hold an Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS).
