From the smallest of nanomaterials to the edges of our known galaxy, and every water droplet in between, researchers in the Faculty of Science are pushing the boundaries of knowledge.

Chris Yakymchuk has won the 2020 Young Scientist Award for his holistic approach to geology that spans the micro- to macro- to tectonic-scales. He's the first University of Waterloo researcher to win the award.

Professor and Canada Excellence Research Chair Laureate Philippe Van Cappellen has been selected to receive an Award of Excellence in Graduate Supervision this year from the University of Waterloo.
