AI for Good webinar details

Join Kerstin Dautenhahn, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Waterloo and Canada 150 Research Chair in Intelligent Robotics, in a webinar discussion on the potential for socially assistive robots to provide humans with therapy and personalized care.

The AI for Good webinar, Towards Human-Centered Social Robots for Good, will be held on Tuesday November 22 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EST/ 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. CET.

AI-powered robots hold great promise for educational and therapeutic purposes. However, the risk of inappropriate implementations could lead to increased social isolation, reduced independence and a lack of trust.

Dautenhahn will share her expertise on this important topic that lauds innovative technologies for their potential to provide social good but also presents ethical considerations for successful human-robot engagement.

The webinar is part of the Robotics for Good programming track, a series of expert talks organized by the International Telecommunication Union that explore the applications of intelligent autonomous systems to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
