Topic

Planning the Potsdam Resilient Underground Microgrid

Abstract

Hurricane Sandy and other extreme weather events have created a significant interest in upgrading the overall disaster response capability in the Northeastern United States.  Electric service to critical loads is a key factor in disaster response, both for restoration and to provide emergency services to the affect population.  This seminar discusses the initial planning stage for a resilient microgrid in Potsdam NY that would improve the regional disaster response capability.
