Two SERS students participate in the student panel

Two panel sessions were held – a student panel and a staff panel. Two SERS undergraduate students participated in the student panel on connecting students with sustainability opportunities. Ceileigh McAllister (Co-Chair Sustainability Literacy Initiative; National Youth Coordinator, SDSN Canada; 3A, ERS) and Shreya Rao (Sustainability Commissioner, WUSA; UW Student Ambassador; Treasurer, UW Indian Cultural Association; 2A, ERS) spoke on their experiences in sustainability-related organizations and encouraging other students to think more sustainably during questions in the panel session.

The Sustainability Office later recognized those units participating in the Green Office program that earned enough points on their annual scorecards to reach bronze, silver, gold or platinum status. SERS was recognized as one of only three units at the gold level! Gold level units have earned 75% of applicable points on the Green Office scorecard. This is an improvement from 2021, the first year the SERS participated, when the silver level was achieved.
