Planning Class of 1997 Alumni Weekend Itinerary

Welcome Planning Class of 1997 (and non-coop 1996!)

Alumni Weekend is a special time for all University of Waterloo alumni to reconnect, reminisce and revisit campus - either in person or virtually. This year is even more special as we celebrate your 25-year class reunion!

Saturday, June 4, 2022

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Environment Open House and Faculty Tours

• Check-in, pick up your name tag and enjoy a coffee and breakfast bites in the beautiful Minto Atrium of LEED Platinum Environment 3 as you visit with fellow alumni and enjoy a relaxed start to the day. 

• Then, take a student-led tour through the hallways you once called home and see what’s new in the Faculty of Environment. New and familiar stops will include the Ecology Lab, the rooftop gardens, the planning design studio, and of course, the ESS Coffee Shop!

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Alumni Weekend Picnic & Milestone Anniversary Celebration

• Join us on BMH Green for a BBQ lunch, beer tent and live music. Check out the new Student Life Centre and Physical Activities Centre expansions and mingle with alumni and friends from all faculties!
• Wear or bring along your favourite University of Waterloo clothing or memorabilia for a chance to win great prizes!
• Milestone Anniversary Celebration
  • This event will feature a special celebration for alumni celebrating 25th, 50th and 55th anniversaries, with an archives display of photos and memorabilia from the milestone years and a celebratory address by University of Waterloo President Vivek Goel.
• Meal Selection
  • Your meal ticket includes a hamburger (halal), grilled chicken burger (halal), or a Beyond Meat burger, side salad, a non-alcoholic beverage and dessert. Beer and wine will be available for purchase on-site for those who are 19+.
  • Attendees are encouraged to pre-purchase meal tickets. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase on-site. Credit and debit only. There will be halal and vegetarian/vegan options available.
• Cost: $10 pre-registered ($15 on-site)

2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Class Reunion Get-together

• Join your class champions Theresa Warnaar (nee Scavuzzo)  and Kent Taylor, along with other classmates to reconnect with their classmates and catch up over drinks at the Lion Brewery Restaurant at the Huether Hotel, 59 King St. N, Waterloo ON.

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Class Reunion Dinner

• Raise a glass and enjoy a meal with your class at The Keg Steak House, 42 Northfield Drive East, Waterloo, Ontario. Note: This is not part of your online event registraiton. If you are interested in joining your class for dinner, please notify Kent Taylor or email Alumni Officer, Dheana Ramsay.
