The World’s Challenge Challenge (WCC) at the University of Waterloo is a competition where teams pick one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (also known as Global Goals) and propose a solution. Teams that have been selected will make a 5-7 minute presentation on their proposed solution followed by a quick Q&A session.
The winning team will win $3,000 and will move on to compete against other schools at the International WCC held at Western University in London, Ontario. The winning team of the International round will win $30,000, the second place team will win $15,000 and the third place team will win $7,500. The World’s Challenge Challenge is a collaboration between Entrepreneurship @ Environment, Waterloo International and Western University.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
