"We are at a time in history where collectively we can effect positive change to address environment and societal challenges here at home, and around the globe. Together, we can do so much."
- Dean Jean
Thank you for reconnecting with the Faculty of Environment, where together with over 14,000 alumni; nearly 200 faculty, staff, and retirees; and countless corporate, government and NGO partners, we are working together to shape a sustainable future here in Canada and around the world.
I am so proud to have taught so many of our alumni – more than 8,000 in fact! And I am grateful to have so many opportunities to meet with and learn about the incredible accomplishments of all of our alumni, both locally and globally.
Our friends and partners, who have supported us through the years, and our students, who inspire us each day, are all integral parts of our community. I encourage you to have a listen to the alumni podcast, Uncharted: Warriors in the World available on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts and Spotify, as well as explore our site and get involved.
Hope to see you soon!
Jean Andrey
Dean, Faculty of Environment
The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
