Please note this workshop has two parts.

10:45AM – 1:00PM in ECH1218: Light and photograph artwork
Professional Toronto photographer Toni Hafkenscheid will demonstrate with 2D and 3D art, with an emphasis on 2D. If you have a piece to document, bring it!! (Time is a factor so not all pieces will be documented.)

30 minute lunch break

Marius Kintel, the author of OpenSCAD, will demonstrate how to use this code based language.

Learn how to model 3D objects in openSCAD using a code based language. With instruction, students will get the opportunity to model simple objects and learn some modeling tricks.  For more information about OpenSCAD visit their website.

Sigrid Blohm from the Japanese Paper Place will give a demonstration on using traditional handmade Japanese paper – washi.

Fine Arts faculty member Doug Kirton will give an artist talk at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery (KWAG).

Dave Dyment will give an artist talk about his work that is currently showing in Gallery Two at the University of Waterloo Art Gallery (UWAG). 

Have you ever wondered about residencies – what they are – how to find them – what they are like?  This panel/talk will give you an overview of some of the different types of residencies out there and how to get them. Tara Cooper and Jane Tingley will account some of their favo​​rite residencies and will talk about their personal experiences.

Encaustic is a painting process which involves combining colour pigments and hot wax and then applying them to a porous, rigid surface such as prepared wood or canvas panel.

Linda Carson will give a workshop on how to do encaustic.  This workshop is free and open to anyone.
