In Information Systems & Technology (IST) we strive to provide effective information systems, technology and services in support of learning, teaching, research and administrative needs.

  1. Aug. 20, 2019IST Service Desk end of term hours

    What is happening? Service desk hours will be reduced until the end of the Spring 2019 term. Regular service desk hours will resume on Tuesday, September 3.

    • Davis Centre (DC) service desk
      • Open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday until August 30. 
      • Open 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. from August 31 to September 1. 
      • Closed on September 2. 
    • Dana Porter (DP) service desk
      • Open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday until August 27.
      • Closed from August 28 to September 2. 
    • Village 1 (V1) service desk
      • Currently closed until August 30.
      • Open 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. from August 30 to September 2.  
    • Claudette Millar Hall (CMH) and Ron Eydt Village (REV)*
      • Open 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. from August 31 to September 1. 
      • Note: these pop-up desks will only be available during move-in weekend.

    When is this happening? Starting on Tuesday, August 20 until Monday, September 2.

  2. Aug. 16, 2019Updated University web search now live – August 16
    What is happening? The University web search tool has been updated and is now live. There are some known temporary issues:
    • Search results may be incomplete until all data has been indexed.
    • Only web search has been enabled; People search is not available at this time.
    The Web Development team will be working continually over the next several weeks to add more features to search. Also, look out soon for more information on how to optimize website content for improved search results.

  3. Aug. 15, 2019Website for Office 365 Employee Email Investigation now live - August 15
    What is happening? Information Systems & Technology (IST) has launched a website for the Office 365 Employee Email Investigation (see initial announcement below). The new site will offer University employees a central hub for information and resources related to the possible migration of employee email from our on-premise solution to the cloud-based Office 365 environment.
    Visit the site to explore the frequently asked questions, review the Information Risk Assessment materials, and most importantly, submit any comments, questions or feedback you may have regarding this work.
    What’s next? Broader campus consultations on this potential change, including in-person and online opportunities for feedback and questions, will be scheduled during the fall 2019 term. Additional communications will be shared once the details are finalized.
