  1. Sep. 25, 2020Outlook Anywhere to be disabled - September 30

What is happening? Outlook Anywhere will be disabled for Connect and Office 365. Please note this change only affects Outlook for Windows users.

When is this happening? Wednesday, September 30 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Why is this happening? Outlook Anywhere is a legacy connection protocol (RPC over HTTP) that has been replaced by MAPI over HTTP.

What is the impact? Users will not be able to access email using Outlook 2007 (and prior) for Windows. This change may also affect users running Outlook 2013 (pre SP1) or Outlook 2010 (pre SP2) if the latest updates are not installed.

What do I need to do? Upgrading Outlook for Windows to at least version 2016 or higher is recommended.

Questions or concerns? Please contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk@uwaterloo.ca or ext. 44357.

  2. Sep. 24, 2020Resolved: Issues with creating and editing pages in Atlassian Confluence (Wiki) - September 24

Resolved: Users are able to create and edit pages in Atlassian Confluence (Wiki) again. Please note new users cannot be added at this time due to licensing capacity limits. IST will be reviewing the Confluence user list to ensure licenses are not being occupied by users who do not require a license.

Questions or concerns? Please contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk@uwaterloo.ca or 519-888-4567 ext. 44357.

What is happening? Users are currently unable to create or edit pages in the Atlassian Confluence (Wiki) platform due to a large increase of users overnight, exceeding the available license capacity. Users (authenticated and public access) are still able to view pages.  IST is investigating and more information will be shared when available.

Questions or concerns? Please contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk@uwaterloo.ca or 519-888-4567 ext. 44357.
