Emergence of quantum information science has led to a paradigm shift in communication systems. In the past couple of decades, quantum information processing tasks like quantum cryptography, dense coding, quantum teleportation etc. have been shown to have advantages over their classical counterparts and have also been successfully implemented in laboratories. In this talk, I will first introduce a deterministic quantum dense coding (DDC) scheme at a single-copy level for two parties — the sender encodes the classical information by acting unitary operators on her/his parts in such a way that upon receiving the entire system, the receiver can always distinguish the output states without any error. I will then consider a scenario of deterministic classical information transmission between multiple senders and a single receiver, when they a priori share a multipartite quantum state – an attempt towards building a deterministic dense coding network. Finally, I will also discuss the possibility of using DDC in other quantum protocols, like two-way quantum key distribution.
