The application for the 2022 QKD Summer School is now closed.

What's QKD Summer School?

The international Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Summer School is a five-day program focused on theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum communication with a focus on quantum cryptography. QKD Summer School aims to provide a solid foundation in relevant approaches and techniques to enable graduate students and young postdoctoral fellows to perform their own independent research. This year, QKD Summer School is running August 15-19, 2022.

It is hosted by the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) at the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre on the University of Waterloo main campus at 200 University Avenue West, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

A three-day optional follow-up workshop will take place August 22-24, where participants will gain hands-on project-based experience with open-source numerical QKD software tools. The workshop will be led in small groups by members of the Optical Quantum Communication Theory group at IQC who are actively developing the QKD software tool.
