Transformative Quantum Technologies

Delivering on the quantum promise

Pushing the boundaries of quantum research, the Transformative Quantum Technologies TQT program—supported by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF)—focuses on three grand challenges: developing a universal quantum processor, impactful quantum sensors, and long-distance quantum communication. Led by David Cory, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Quantum Information Processing, TQT bridges academic research and industry applications.

Building on the strengths of the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), TQT accelerates quantum advancements, transforming quantum mechanics from lab curiosity to real-world technology.

With quantum devices already moving beyond the lab, TQT continues to develop new innovations and collaborate with early adopters to explore their potential.
