Kent Fisher received a top honour for his exemplary Master's thesis at the University of Waterloo convocation today
For three of the last four years, an Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) student has been awarded the University of Waterloo’s Dean of Science Award. The award is given in recognition of one outstanding master's thesis from each department within the Faculty of Science.
This year, Kent Fisher, a PhD candidate IQC, has received the award for his MSc thesis.
This is not the first award that Fisher has received for outstanding MSc work – the first was the Governor General Medal. He also earned the prestigious Vanier Fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to fund his graduate studies.
We congratulate Kent, and look forward to see what awards Kent collects in the future.
