Why they're spending big on the tiny world of quantum information.
The Executive Director of the Institute for Quantum Computing Raymond Laflamme was profiled by Daiene Vernile of ProvinceWide on Sunday, April 28. Laflamme shared how researchers are using both pen and paper to understand the quantum world and to test their ideas. IQC researchers have already developed a number of devices that harness and control the quantum world.
Vernile also highlighted Mike Lazaridis' vision of Quantum Valley, his investments in quantum information and how quantum technologies could change the world. She profiled community investment in quantum information research, most notably the recent Quantum Valley Investment fund by Mike Lazaridis and Doug Fregin.
