Four faculty members at the Institute for Quantum Computing received President’s Excellence in Research awards for their research achievements that were recognized by national or international foundations, associations and institutions.
David Gosset, Christine Muschik, Rajibul Islam and Raymond Laflamme were among 125 educators and researchers who were honoured for receiving President’s Excellence in Teaching and Research awards in an online celebration October 7.
Gosset, a faculty member in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization in the Faculty of Math, was honoured for becoming a CIFAR Fellow in Quantum Information Science.
Muschik, a faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science, was honoured for receiving a Sloan Research Fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Islam, a faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, was honoured for receiving an Early Researcher Award from the Government of Ontario.
Laflamme, a faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, was honoured for receiving the Order of Canada from the Governor General.
