NewBit acknowledged nationally and internationally with publication awards
In the past two weeks, the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) received three awards recognizing achievement of overall communication and effectiveness for NewBit, including:
- An Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) 2015 Award of Excellence in the category Newsletters – Writing for the Winter 2014 NewBit
- A Gold Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Circle of Excellence Award in the category External Audience Newsletters (Print)
- A Gold Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) Prix d’Excellence Award in the category Best Brochure, Flyer or Newsletter
Highlights of judges’ comments included: “The publication took complex subject matter and made it easily comprehendible. Short articles, smart infographics, great use of typography, clean design with plenty of whitespace, and engaging storylines combined effortlessly to create a fantastic read. It was obvious the team took great care to distill and curate content, and the result was incredibly impactful.”
NewBit is published three times each year, highlighting research successes, events and activities at IQC.
The APEX 2015 awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. The Winter 2014 NewBit was one of 749 communication pieces to receive an award of excellence out of 1,851 submitted entries.
The CASE Circle of Excellence awards acknowledge superior accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and deliver exceptional results.
The CCAE Prix d’Excellence awards program recognizes outstanding achievements in alumni affairs, public affairs, communications, marketing, development, advancement services, stewardship, student recruitment and overall institutional advancement.
