The Economist profiles quantum information networks via satellite with Thomas Jennewein.
Thomas Jennewein's work was highlighted in The Economist in a story about using quantum mechanics to stop Eve from eavesdropping on Alice and Bob. Jennewin and his team are researching methods to establish secure global quantum communication networks via satellite.

The article also mentions a method to transmit messages using entangled photons by two other groups of researchers: Anton Zeilinger (University of Vienna) and Jian-Wei Pan (University of Science and Technology of China); and Alex Ling and Artur Ekert (entre for Quantum Technology in Singapore).
