Faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students and staff from the Institute for Quantum Computing will participate in this week's Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
IQC Executive Director Raymond Laflamme and Prof. Thomas Jennewein are among the IQC researchers who will be on hand to speak in symposia about quantum information research and global quantum communication.
The day before the conference, Laflamme will deliver a special public lecture, sponsored by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, about quantum information research at UBC Robson Square.
Prof. David Cory will be among the Canada Excellence Research Chairs (CERCs) who will discuss their research and results at a special summit on Wednesday.
The IQC Booth in the AAAS Exhibition Hall will allow visitors to try hands-on demonstrations of quantum information technologies.
The AAAS Annual Meeting is the largest scientific gathering in the world, and this year's event is the first time it has been held in Canada since 1981. IQC faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students and staff will be among a large contingent representing Waterloo Region's scientific, educational and high-tech "innovation ecosystem."
