KI Seminar: Skaidra Puodziunas & Sukhi Chuhan

Friday, September 17, 2021 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Knowledge Integration and public service for the digital age

People expect government services to be simple, seamless and intuitive, but making that a reality is one of the biggest obstacles faced by the public service.

Rising to the challenge, a passionate group of changemakers at the Ontario Digital Service (ODS) have formed multidisciplinary teams to create inclusive digital experiences for people, businesses and communities across the province. In this seminar learn how Knowledge Integration (KI) alumni Sukhi and Skaidra have landed careers at the ODS, how their foundational degrees in KI shaped their public sector experience, and why embracing KI principles like ambiguity, collaboration and complex problem solving have never been more important.

Skaidra Puodziunas
Skaidra (think hydra, say skydra) Puodziunas is currently a Senior Engagement Advisor with the Ontario Digital Service. Here she directly supports the Office of the Chief Digital and Data Officer, highlighting the voices of multidisciplinary teams working to make government services simple, seamless and intuitive for all, and manages #OntarioDigital – a blog on digital, the Ontario Government and all things in between. Skaidra is also a co-organizer of Civic Tech Toronto, a volunteer-led community open to anyone with an interest in solving civic and social issues, and a connector in the global Lithuanian community. Skaidra believes “digital government” is simply good government and is always open to (virtual) coffee chats to discuss this further.

Sukhi Chuhan
Sukhi Chuhan is a senior UX designer and one of the design leads with the Ontario Digital Service Lab. She provides user experience (UX) leadership and support for the Ontario Public Service to design government services that are simpler, better and faster for Ontarians. Sukhi works with a team of designers to engage ministry partners at different points of their project cycle to lead UX activities such as user research, prototyping, usability testing and more. Currently she’s working with a multidisciplinary product team to design and deliver digital identity for Ontario - outside work you can find her mentoring junior designers, hacking at hackathons, and connecting with others in the civic tech space.
