KI student Karissa Manning, Computer Science student Greg Maxin, and Justin Doyle, a social work graduate and advocate for accessibility created a software solution called RocketCare to optimize scheduling and appointment booking practices for therapeutic and support services for children and youth with a wide range of complex needs.
Karissa and Greg were part of the Workplace Innovation Program that enables students to discover and test innovations within established social-purpose organizations -- a program offered through GreenHouse, the social impact incubator at the University of Waterloo. Karissa did this project as part of her KI Senior Research Project.
They were recently awarded a grant from the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility to assist in the continued development of this project.
