(course inactivated in 2022)
This capstone design project course gives students the opportunity, over one or two terms, to extend their Knowledge Integration core experience. Students are expected to self-organize — working both independently and collaboratively across disciplinary boundaries — to identify, analyze and effectively address a substantial real-world problem, to the satisfaction of a real-world client.
This course requires substantial hands-on effort, readiness to embrace ambiguity, a disposition to develop and discard ideas, and the resiliency to learn from false starts en route to success.
INTEG 452 A & B counts for the “work and community” component of EDGE: Waterloo’s new experiential education certificate. EDGE helps you develop key professional skills, explore career options, and market yourself to employers.
It also counts for the KI Collaborative Design Specialization.
