New collection: Andrew Telegdi fonds

Special Collections & Archives (SCA) just got a little bigger with the addition of the Andrew Telegdi fonds. Andrew Telegdi (BA '80) was a federal MP from 1993 to 2008, a local Waterloo City councillor from 1985 to 1993 and a past Federation of Students (now WUSA) president from 1973-74.

As part of eCampus Ontario’s Virtual Learning grants, a new series of online self-paced tutorials that build skills in academic integrity for STEM students, was recently launched on the Library’s Online Learning Object Repository.

Spotlight: Jahanvi Desai, Sharon Lamont Student Award winner

The Library is pleased to spotlight one of the inaugural Sharon Lamont Student Award winners, Jahanvi Desai. The award was created last year upon the retirement of longtime library employee Sharon Lamont to support students who have previously worked at the Library and have, through extracurricular involvement, supported equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

OER Fellows Grant inaugural recipients selected

During Open Education Week earlier this year, the Library announced a new initiative, an OER Fellows Grant program to support the creation of open education resources at Waterloo. As part of the Library’s mission to make learning materials freely accessible and available, we sponsored $15,000 for this pilot program (up to $5,000 per grant) to create or adapt resources for use in a Waterloo course.
