Nick Richbell, head, Special Collections & Archives, 519-888-4567, ext. 32445

Nick came to us from Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in Montreal where he worked as the corporate archivist since 2012. Prior to CPR, Nick worked at McGill University Archives, McGill University Health Centre, and the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital.

Nick holds a BA (Honours) in Modern Languages from the University of Westminster, London and a Master of Library & Information Studies (MLIS) from McGill University. Before going back to school to earn his MLIS, Nick held customer service management positions in the travel and video game industries where he enjoyed the daily challenge of managing teams ranging from 12 to 50 people.

Along with starting a new job, he also finds time to mentor students and volunteer for the Association of Canadian Archivists and recently sat on their Outreach Committee. He’s looking forward to working with the special collections team to promote the use of our exciting and varied collections.

Not only is Nick looking forward to learning everything there is to know about Kitchener-Waterloo, but he is also excited for spring to arrive so he can finally get to visit the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada in Guelph.
