Special Collections & Archives has temporarily changed its service schedule. Until the end of September 2023 the department will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and by appointment only on Mondays and Fridays.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Owing to the complex nature of archival research we encourage you to make an appointment. This allows staff to carefully review your request and work with you to ensure the materials you wish to consult are ready for your visit as some collections are held off-site.
Researchers who wish to continue working at a distance can continue to contact us with research requests and staff will work virtually with you.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
