David Ward Clement, son of E.P. Clement and Janie Bowlby Clement, was a member of the Cadet Corps and enlisted in 1915 when he turned 18. He was killed in action in France on December 2, 1917.

A.Y. Jackson of the Group of Seven was a cousin of David Ward Clement and served as a war artist. Here he is with cousin Florence Clement.

Clipping, Gunner David Ward Clement "Who has been officially reported killed in action. Ward was a son of Mr. E. P. Clement K.C., and Mrs. Clement, city. He enlisted with the 118th, but later joined another unit. More recently he was an observer in the Aviation branch."
