Dr. Lisa Christian graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1999, and earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2003. Following graduation, she completed a residency program in binocular vision and paediatric optometry at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Christian is currently a Clinical Associate Professor and Interim Associate Director for Clinical Programs at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science. She is also head of the binocular vision clinic and the ocular disease and therapeutic externship.

Dr. Christian is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). She is the co-national faculty liaison for COVD, and has been a committee member for the College of Optometrists of Ontario since 2006. Dr. Christian has published numerous articles and given many presentations and lectures both nationally and internationally in the areas of paediatric eye care and binocular vision.
