FOR SEPTEMBER 2024 ADMISSION APPLICATIONS, the OAT must be taken from August 31, 2021 to August 31, 2023 (inclusive).  Book your test early so you'll be able to meet this deadline.

Applications for September 2023 admission are now closed.  

For applications for September 2023 admission, the OAT had to be taken from August 31, 2020 to August 31, 2022 (inclusive).  

The CASPer test dates for September 2023 admission are now available.  CASPer and Snapshot are required.  Please go to the Non-academic requirements for specific information.

Due to COVID-19, for the winter 2020 term only, we will accept CR for prerequisite courses.

We don't accept on-line courses for courses with lab requirements.  We don't accept at-home labs.

Waterloo’s School of Optometry and Vision Science offers an accredited, professional, 4 year Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree. The School is the only provider of English language instruction of optometry in Canada (the only French language school is the École d'Optométrie at the Université de Montréal).
