Having finalized Discovery plans, we move into developing a itemized ‘to-do’ list of where we are headed next. We determined our pool of possible participants is approximately 150 persons with dementia and family care partners, and 120 staff from multiple agencies within the Huron County. We are finally seeing how our work might translate into real action.

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting the Partnerships in Dementia Care (PIDC) Alliance blog.

The PiDC Alliance is a collaborative research network and research initiative focused on improving the dementia care experience for persons with dementia, family members, and staff in both long-term care and the community.

For more information on the work of PiDC Alliance, visit the About section of this site.

Zara, our current Knowledge Translation Specialist, was recently hired and attended our meeting this month. Welcome, Zara!

We began revising our Discovery questions to make them more accessible and relevant to our group. We recognised that the ‘circle of care’ for community clients may be broader, including friends, neighbours, relatives and so forth, and that relationships are very important at all levels – in the community, in long-term care homes, and in families.
