Twenty-two MPS students made their way to Ottawa on February 22 to participate in a policy jam session graciously hosted by the Treasury Board of Canada, and Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada.
Students were divided into groups and asked to present solutions to contemporary policy issues in under two minutes. The topics were varied and diverse, including: social media and government communications; the impact of super clusters; what the role of open and digital government is; how to regulate big data and artificial intelligence. The MPS students did extraordinarily well, presenting innovative solutions to complex problems in a thoughtful and articulate manner.
MPS students also had the opportunity to network with those in attendance of the event, including: Yaprak Baltacioglu, Deputy Minister of the Treasury Board of Canada; Scott Brison, Treasury Board Minister; Anatole Papadopoulos, Executive Director of the Canadian Digital Service (featured in the above picture); and John Knubley, Deputy Minister of ISED.
