Sadly, our deprtment has learned that Professor Jack Kersell passed away on February 23, 2013.
Jack taught in our department from 1964 until 1996. Jack continued to be a very close friend of the Department and attended every departmental event since his retirement. Jack generously established two major awards in our department -- one at the undergraduate level and one at the graduate level. As recently as September 2012, he joined us for the presentation of his award and to congratulate the award winner.
As noted in his obituary, Jack has requested there be no funeral or service and wished instead for a Graduation Party/Celebration of Life which will be announced at a later date.
