"A question about differentiably closed ideals"

Abstract: The purpose of this lecture is to pose a problem that is motivated by work from the recent PhD thesis of Omar Sanchez, concerning identifying the radical ideals in a commutative algebra that are stable under the action of a family of derivations. We will discuss the motivation for this problem and give some partial results. Notes will be provided to people who are interested in thinking about this problem more seriously and very little background will be assumed, although some of the proofs will require some machinery.
