Financial support

  1. Offers of support are conditional on your being accepted into, and enrolled full-time in, the graduate program in the Department of Pure Mathematics. Such acceptance and enrolment is to be in the form of a "Letter of Acceptance", issued by the University of Waterloo Graduate Studies Office.

  2. All student income is subject to Canadian income tax.

  3. A student in a qualifying year is not entitled to financial support.

  4. Note for international students: Students intending to come to Canada on a Student Authorization must be able to provide the Canadian Immigration authorities with evidence of a total income or capital sufficient to cover all expenses. If you intend to bring a spouse or family to Canada with you, you will need more financial resources per year to live adequately.

  5. Before any payments can be made to you, various forms must be completed in our Human Resources Office; it will be your responsibility to make the necessary arrangements with them for that purpose as soon as possible after your arrival on campus. You can also arrange for tuition fees or residence fees to be deducted monthly from payments in connection with the above support.
