"Limit Distribution of Small Points on Algebraic Tori"

Equidistribution has various and significant applications in Algebraic and Arithmetic dynamics. In this seminar, we will give several talks to introduce this topic. During the first talk, we will first briefly motivate the equidistribution in terms of its application in dynamics. Then we will present the paper by Buli on how to obtain the limit distribution of small points (equidistribution) on algebraic Tori and see its application on understanding small points and structures of subvarieties of the torus. This is a good starting point to learn equidistribution as the objects are elementary.
