“Sheafification, subsheaves and quotient sheaves”
In this talk we will finish section 2.4 of Ravi Vail’s notes. First, we will verify that given a presheaf F, the sheaf Fsh satisfies the universal property of sheafification, and that the map sh induces an isomorphism of stalks. Next, we will give another perspective of the sheaf Fsh as the space of sections of F. Finally, we will define subsheaves and quotient sheaves in terms of monomorphisms and epimorphisms in the category of sheaves.
