“Intro-spec-tion”
So far we have been streaming ahead, defining an affine scheme without a moment’s hesitation. It is time to take a moment to still our minds and reflect.
This talk will attempt to answer the following questions: ”What does all this Spec and scheme nonsense have to do with geometry?” and ”Why are we here?”
We will be tying what we’ve already learnt (and maybe a bit more) to what we know from classical algebraic geometry. The goal is to find ourselves and reach inner peace.
