"Matroidal flips and related ideas/constructions"

Matroidal flips provide a key technique in the work of Adiprasito, Huh, and Katz  on the log-concavity conjectures. In particular, matroidal flips allows one to transport information between the Chow rings of matroids of the same rank on the same ground set. The cost of this transportation is that one must leave the world of matroids and consider Chow rings of more general objects. We will discuss the uses of matroidal flips and other related ideas in combinatorial hodge theory and how they can be used to deduce Poincare duality for matroids.
