“Locally Compact Groupoids and Their Representations”

A groupoid generalizes a group by replacing the multiplication by a partially defined multi- plication. In this talk, we first define the locally compact groupoid G and compactly supported continuous functions Cc(G). It turns out that Cc(G) is a normed *-algebra, and similar to the representation of groups, we shall show the representation of groupoids is in one-to-one correspondence to the representation of Cc(G).
