“C*envelopes and the Hao-Ng isomorphism”
Let X be a c*-correspondence over a c*-algebra C and G a locally compact group acting on X. The Hao-Ng isomorphism problem asks whether the reduced crossed product c*-algebra OX r G, where OX is the Cuntz-Pimsner algebra of (X,C), is isomorphic to the Cuntz- Pimsner algebra of (X r G, C r G). Using non-selfadjoint operator algebra theory, we solve this problem for all discrete groups. Other cases and variants are also discussed.
