"Brain Network Hubs and Markov Processes"
A new chapter of interdisciplinary research between neuroscience and graph theory has emerged in the last 20 years. In recent joint work with neuroscientist A. N. Prasad, we proposed a model using graph theory and Markov chains to identify "brain hubs" in the neural networks of organisms. We will survey this work and underline some future directions. The talk will be accessible to a general audience.
