Abstract

Last time we proved that Gaussian curvature depends only on the metric and explored some interesting consequences of this fact in architecture. In this talk, I will develop the geodesic equations on a surface and prove that the difference between sum of interior angles in a geodesic triangle and pi is measured by integrating curvature over the interior of the triangle.
