"Teaching Strategies from Positive Psychology"

Positive psychology is the study of happiness, well-being, autonomy, and other positive aspects of the human experience. It is best known in math education through growth mindset and the work of Carol Dweck. In this talk, we'll work on some simple and scattered teaching strategies inspired by positive psychology.

The talk will be an active workshop. Please come ready to share stories, ideas, and experiences. As no one likes being put on the spot, here are some queries to think about prior to attending:

• What is a course that you're currently developing?
• How do you get students excited about your course material?
• Why is mathematics amazing / wonderful / exciting?
• What is the most fun / engaging / amusing thing you teach?
